Eighth-grader Kayla Daly pitched a five-inning perfect game in her first varsity start as North Babylon beat Copiague, 12-0, Tuesday in Suffolk League II softball.
The righthander struck out 11 using a dominant fastball and "a ridiculous changeup," Bulldogs coach John Egan said. "It was incredible and she wasn't fazed at all. She remained calm throughout and was just taking care of business."
Marissa Sagona was 2-for-3 with four runs and two walks, and Teresa Cardello went 2-for-4 with a double and an RBI for North Babylon (3-0).
West Islip 3, Whitman 2: Stephanie Neglia singled in Haley Westerberg with the go-ahead run in the top of the ninth inning for West Islip (4-0) in League II. Whitman had tied it at 2 on a sacrifice fly in the seventh. Rachel Wandidlek went 2-for-4 with an RBI, and Alyssa Monteverde struck out 10 in a complete game for the win.
Valley Stream South 9, Lawrence 1: Sophomore Brianna Schippel struck out 10 in her first no-hitter and went 2-for-3 with a homer and four RBIs to lead Valley Stream South (3-2) in Nassau A-VI.
Baldwin 8, Syosset 7: Jade Aponte (2-for-4) hit a walk-off homer to left in the seventh inning for Baldwin (1-2) in AA-II. Alex Burns' two-run homer gave the Bruins a 7-6 lead in the fifth inning, but Syosset tied it in the sixth on an error. Montia Moon went 2-for-4 with a homer and two RBIs.
Our Lady of Mercy 3, Kellenberg 1: Diana Felicione allowed four hits and struck out three in a complete game for Our Lady of Mercy (1-1) in CHSAA. The Mustangs scored all three runs in the third inning, defeating Kellenberg for the first time in eight years, according to coach Sister Meghan McArdle. Victoria Rebollo singled in Stephanie Reda to give OLMA a 2-0 lead.

Courtney Pabst added a goal and four assists.
