He went 2-for-4 with two runs scored in a Class B semifinal clincher over East Rockaway and went 2-for-2 with a grand slam and five RBIs in Game 1.

JOHN MONTESANO

Shoreham-Wading River, baseball

He hit the game-winning single to defeat Westhampton in the second round of the Class A playoffs. He had the go-ahead two-out single in the bottom of the eighth and pitched 22/3 innings of scoreless relief in the regular-season finale against defending state champion Bayport-Blue Point.

KERRI SHAPIRO

East Meadow, softball

She homered and tossed a shutout in an 8-0 semifinal win over Massapequa. Shapiro tossed a two-hitter and struck out 13 in a 10-1 win in Game 2 to advance to the county final.

ANTHONY TRECCARICHE

Smithtown West, baseball

He hit a two-out, three-run homer in a 4-1 win over Lindenhurst in a Class AA elimination game. Prior to that, he struck out five while allowing two runs in a complete game, beating Eastport-South Manor in a first-round losers' bracket playoff game.
