LEE VASILAKOS
Long Island Player of the Year
St. Anthony's

Setter, Senior
The Catholic League final MVP had 720 assists, 80 blocks, 60 kills, 34 aces and 150 digs to lead the Friars to a 17-0 record and a CHSAA title. In the final against St. John the Baptist, Vasilakos had 30 assists to go with the 63 he compile in the two tournament games on the road to the final.

ADAM EPSTEIN
Port Washington

Middle Blocker, Senior
Epstein recorded 472 kills to help lead Port Washington to the Class A final against Massapequa. He added 48 aces, 57 blocks and 276 digs. The All-County player had 26 kills in the five-game thriller over Plainview JFK in the county semifinal.

CHRIS KAIMIS
Half Hollow Hills

Outside Hitter, Senior
Kaimis led Hills to its second straight county title over Smithtown East with a 16-kill, five-block performance.

JORDAN LEFKOWITZ
Plainview

Setter, Senior
Lefkowitz, a first-year setter, recorded a team-high 713 assists and 40 aces for Plainview, which advanced to the Class A semifinal. He added 55 kills, five blocks and 77 digs.

BRENDAN MILLS
Bellmore, JFK

Outside Hitter, Senior
Class B most valuable player had 21 kills and five blocks to help Bellmore capture the Class B title in a five-game match against Jericho.

BRIAN SMITH
Massapequa

Setter, Outside Hitter, Senior
The Nassau MVP and All-County selection recorded 131 kills, 21 aces, 325 assists in a two-setter offense, 101 digs and 40 blocks. As team captain, he also led undefeated Massapequa to its first county championship.

STEVE MARIANO
Coach of the Year
Massapequa

The Chiefs coach led his team to its first county championship in the program’s five years and a 22-0 record. The Chiefs lost only one in-match game in the regular season and played a Game 5 only once — the Class A final against Port Washington.

Ward Melville, Setter, Senior

The All-County selection and winner of Suffolk Coaches Association Exceptional Senior award compiled a staggering 811 assists, 54 aces, 30 kills, 36 blocks and 51 digs. In November, he notched 45 assists in a four-game match against Northport. He also earned All-County Academic Elite honors — given to the top 14 student athletes in the county.

MATT NIZICH
Smithtown East, Outside Hitter, Senior

The Smithtown sparkplug was integral in the Bulls’ postseason run, most impressively setting aside East Hampton in the county quarterfinals. Leading 13-6 in Game 1, Nizich impressively served for eight straight points with three aces.
