Basile, Sanchez lead I. Trees volleyball

Alannah Basile had three of her team-high 21 kills and two aces in Game 5 as Island Trees edged Locust Valley, 3-2, Thursday in Nassau Conference BC-II girls volleyball.

Basile added three blocks and three aces and Shamar Sanchez finished with 11 kills, five aces and four digs in Island Trees' 25-15, 25-23, 26-24, 17-25, 25-19 win.

Oyster Bay 3, Valley Stream North 2: Caroline Kelly had 25 digs to lead Oyster Bay in a 23-25, 25-17, 20-25, 25-17, 25-19 win in Conference BC-II.

East Rockaway 3, Carle Place 1: Katie Barto had seven aces and 11 assists and Becky Italiano added seven digs, seven kills and six aces to lead East Rockaway in a 19-25, 25-15, 25-18, 25-19 Conference BC-II win.

Clarke 3, Floral Park 2: Julia Cast had 15 kills and nine blocks and Erica Sandorf had nine kills and 32 assists to lead Clarke to a 17-25, 25-17, 25-23, 22-25, 25-23 win Conference BC-I.

Seaford 3, Wheatley 0: Meaghan Curley had 15 assists, five kills and three aces, and Juliana Puleo added six kills, seven digs and three aces for Seaford in a 25-8, 25-10, 25-12 Conference BC-I victory.

Baldwin 3, Syosset 1: AlexaJill Ackerman had eight kills and Loren McKenzie had 10 blocks to lead Baldwin to a 26-24, 25-17, 24-26, 34-32 victory in Conference AA-I.

East Meadow 3, Port Washington 2: Jennifer Gundrum had 13 kills and Becky Syers added 10 kills, 24 assists and eight aces to lift East Meadow in a 22-25, 21-25, 25-11, 25-22, 25-22 comeback win in Conference AA-I. Taylor Conti added 10 aces in the win.

MacArthur 3, Hempstead 0: Kristen Brown had six aces and three kills, and Emily Lyons had three aces and three kills to lead MacArthur to a 25-7, 25-14, 25-5 win in Conference AA-II.

Plainview JFK 3, Valley Stream Central 0: Jamie Fishman had four aces and Sami Pantowich added seven kills for Plainview JFK in a 25-13, 25-14, 25-21 Conference AA-II win.

Rocky Point 3, Brentwood 1: Jesse Vessichio had eight kills, Erika Magnuson four aces and four kills and Jessica Barber added five kills and two aces as Rocky Point prevailed, 25-17, 25-19, 19-25, 27-25, in non-league.

Westhampton 3, Mattituck 1: Alex Siolos had 27 assists and 15 aces to pace Westhampton in a 22-25, 25-8, 25-16, 25-13 non-league victory. Nicole Ianonne added 10 kills and 14 digs in the win.

Babylon 3, Port Jefferson 2: Jaimie McKay had a kill late in Game 5 to secure the win for Babylon in its 25-18, 20-25, 25-15, 15-25, 25-19 non-league win.

Bay Shore 5, St. John the Baptist 2:Perri Baker of Bay Shore defeated Alexa Sloane, 6-4, 6-4, in first singles and Michele Muscara of Bay Shore defeated Alexa Collins of St. John the Baptist, 7-6, 7-5 in second singles in non-league.
