A.J. Gallo added a career-high 41 assists and Will Helicher chipped in six blocks in the win for No. 6 Lawrence (3-10) in its 26-24, 18-25, 25-22, 19-25, 25-22 win. Lawrence plays at No. 3 Roslyn in a quarterfinal at 2:30 p.m. Saturday.

Great Neck North 3, Hewlett 1: Sep Talasazan had eight assists and five kills and Sean Zar had 12 digs and eight assists to lead No. 10 Great Neck North (10-6) in a 25-16, 18-25, 25-23, 25-22 win in a Class B first-round game. Great Neck North will play at No. 2 Bellmore JFK in a quarterfinal at 3 p.m. Saturday.

West Hempstead 3, Plainedge 0: Pat D'haiti had 10 kills, Chris McAvoy had eight kills, Tom Wood chipped in seven kills and Eric Finkelstein finished with 30 assists for No. 5 West Hempstead (6-7) in a 25-21, 25-15, 25-10 win in a Class B first-round match. West Hempstead plays at No. 4 Jericho in a quarterfinal at 3:30 p.m. Saturday.

Syosset 3, Hicksville 1: Sam Gertler and Ian Hehut each had 13 kills, and Jeff Alan had five digs to lead No. 5 Syosset (10-7) to a 17-25, 27-25, 25-19, 26-24 in the first round of the Nassau Class A Tournament. Syosset will play at No. 4 Long Beach in the quarterfinals at 3:30 p.m. Saturday.

Herricks 3, Oceanside 2: Jeffrey Kim had 49 kills and Joseph Yoon had 40 assists and seven aces as No. 8 Herricks (6-12) erased an 0-2 deficit in a 17-25, 24-26, 25-20, 25-23, 25-19 win in the first round of the Class A playoffs. Herricks advances to play at No. 1 Massapequa in a quarterfinal at 4 p.m. Saturday.
