Glenn had won 11 consecutive Long Island Class B girls volleyball championships entering this season, so for senior co-captains Jackie Malusa and Stephanie Caputo, Tuesday's title match at Roslyn was about maintaining a storied tradition.

Malusa was dominant with 20 kills and Caputo chipped in with 24 assists as Glenn (15-0) beat Seaford (14-1) in a rematch of last year's LI final, 25-16, 25-12, 25-11, to extend its streak to 12. Glenn will defend its state championship Saturday in Glens Falls.

"It's a lot of pressure because we've been doing so great for so many years," Malusa said.

Added Caputo: "It's such a privilege to win another Long Island championship."

In the first, Malusa got Glenn off to a fast start with two kills and a block for a 5-2 lead. Glenn made it 20-10 on a 7-0 run behind Stephanie Viteritti's well-placed serves. In the second game, Malusa served six straight points in a 7-0 run for a 13-4 lead. In the third, Samantha Czeczotka served the first six points.

Czeczotka had 12 digs and nine kills, and Kasey Muchnicki added 10 digs and four aces.

"It never gets old," Glenn coach Kevin Harrington said.
