VOLLEYBALLLI will have a team

in state final

In the uncertainty of the postseason, this much is certain: at least one Long Island boys volleyball team will play in a state championship final.

The Suffolk Division II champion will play the Nassau Class B champ in Saturday's regional finals to determine Long Island's representative at the state championship on Nov. 20 in Cicero.

The Suffolk-Nassau winner plays the winner of a regional match between the top teams in Section V and VI. Since those are the only other sections in New York to play a regional Class B final, the winners of these regionals earn a guaranteed spot in the state final.

Eastport-South Manor, Sayville, East Hampton and Shoreham-Wading River remain in the Suffolk hunt, and Bellmore JFK plays Floral Park in Thursday's Nassau final. Either way, one of these six teams will vie for the ultimate prize.
