Massapequa boys volleyball finally cracked, albeit not for long. After dropping Game 1 to break a streak of 52 in a row dating to their conference opener, the Chiefs shut the door.

Chris Husmann had 20 kills and tournament MVP Christian Smith had 25 assists and 13 kills as the No. 1 Chiefs (19-0) defeated No. 3 Plainview JFK, 24-26, 25-18, 25-15, 25-11, Thursday to win their third straight Nassau Class A title at Hofstra.

"This is the strongest team we've had," Smith said. "In the first game, we slipped up a little bit. We just had to relax, settle down and play our game."

Massapequa will play Suffolk champion Lindenhurst for the Division I Long Island championship/state qualifier at noon Saturday at Hofstra.

Plainview JFK is 16-3.

Floral Park B champ. No. 1 Floral Park won its first Nassau Class B title, 25-16, 26-24, 26-28, 25-22, over No. 2 Bellmore JFK, the three-time defending champion. Jason Cortapasso had eight kills and Will Wichart had 18 assists, seven kills and five blocks for Floral Park.

"We were the top seed last year, and we couldn't get it done," Cortapasso said. "It felt great this year to be number one and finally get it done."

The Knights will play Suffolk champ Eastport-South Manor in the Division II Long Island championship Saturday at 2:30 p.m. at Hofstra.
