Below is the postgame interview with Smithtown East's Delia Phillips and Maggie Engellenner following Saturday's win over Massapequa in the Class AA LI Championship/southeast regional. 
 Talk about the emotions of winning a Long Island championship. 
 Maggie: I was saying, we’ve come so far. I mean, our first year on the team, we made it to the county championship game and lost in a really big upset. Last year, we made it to the semis and lost. This year, to come this far, I mean…. the first day of the season, we walked into the gym and said, ‘this is our year.’ For it to actually happen is amazing. 
 Delia: It’s just a surreal feeling. Even winning a county championship, and that being only two days ago (Thursday), I feel like it was a week ago. It hasn’t sunk in for me yet. It’s weird. We’ve worked so hard. There is such great team morale. For it to actually happen for us… we’ve had such bad breaks in the past. 
 In the fourth game, you kept feeding Delia the ball. 
 Maggie: She’s our go-to girl. There is no shutting her down. 
 How important was it to close out the match in the fourth game? 
 Maggie: It was incredibly important. Massapequa is a great team, and anybody can be upset on any given day. Truthfully, if we went to a fifth game, I probably would have passed out. 
 Delia: I think the thing that sets our team apart is that we have a strong team mentality. Even if we’re down by a substantial amount, we always bring it. That’s what I love about this team.
