Lauren Van Buren had 10 kills, 13 digs, three aces and two blocks and Joanne Josephson had nine kills and six blocks as No. 1 Massapequa beat No. 2 Hicksville, 25-15, 25-12, 25-12, to win the Nassau Class AA girls volleyball championship at SUNY-Old Westbury Tuesday. Kristen Marchisotto had 33 assists and Erin Bies added 18 digs.

Massapequa (15-0) plays the winner of Lindenhurst vs. Smithtown East in the Long Island championship at 7:30 p.m. Saturday at St. Joseph's College in Patchogue.

The Chiefs last won the Long Island championship in 2007, when they also won a state title. This is Massapequa's 12th consecutive county title.

"We came out strong from the beginning," coach CarolAnn Habeeb-Kiel said. "We were excited to play and just wanted to pull away right from the get-go."

Hicksville finished 10-5.
