With roughly two weeks to go before NHL training camps begin, the Islanders still have two pressing items remaining on their pre-season To Do list:

Sign both Josh Bailey and Ryan Strome. Expect that to happen soon.

Bailey, a 21-year-old restricted free agent, elected not to sign his qualifying offer earlier this summer. Heading into his fourth NHL season, he is currently without a deal but his agent Pat Morris told Newsday via email this about negotiations: "We are  both working hard to get the contract concluded."

Strome, the team's first-round draft pick this year, is expected to come to an agreement on a standard entry-level deal this week.
