Brendan Witt bought out

 Here is last night's story on the Islanders buying out the last year of Brendan Witt's contract.

Witt is now free to pursue options with other teams in NHL or in Europe. Certainly would not be surprised to see him get a tryout with another team, given his long-standing reputation for grit, toughness and leadership.

Oh, and now that he's free, SUV's beware.
