Countdown to the draft

 Less than four hours until the draft here in LA and I'll be at the event to keep you updated on all of the Islanders news. Also make sure to follow Newsday hockey columnist Arthur Staple, who will be at the Islanders draft party at Nassau Coliseum.

He'll be able to check in with last year's first overall pick John Tavares, as well as teammates Matt Moulson and Trevor Gillies.

Prediction for the day? Expect the Islanders to take a defenseman. The interesting thing to watch is which one(s) are still available at No. 5. among the top triumvirate of Fowler, Gudbranson, and Gormley.
