DiPietro's x-rays negative, but will see team docs today
Although Rick DiPietro's facial x-rays came back negative after last night's 3-0 shutout loss in Pittsburgh, he will see team doctors today as a precaution.
After being dropped with a massive left from Penguins goaltender Brent Johnson in a golaie fight with less than 17 seconds remaining last night, DiPietro had a massive welt on his right cheekbone but appeared to be fine otherwise.
The consult today is just to ensure he suffered no structural damage in his brief bout with Johnson.
No practice for the Islanders today, just off-ice workouts.
