The Islanders have recalled defenseman Dylan Reese from Bridgeport, presumably as insurance for fellow blue-liner Jack Hillen who did not play Saturday because of an unspecified illness.

Hillen left the morning skate early at STAPLES Center on Saturday, forcing the Islanders to roll five defensemen as a result.

Reese has one goal and five assists in 15 games for Bridgeport this season; the 26-year-old Harvard grad played 19 games for the Islanders last season.
