Islanders forward Michael Grabner has been named a Calder finalist, the award given to the NHL's Rookie of the Year.
The 23-year-old Austrian winger was nominated along with Carolina's Jeff Skinner and San Jose's Logan Couture.
Grabner finished the season with 34 goals--most among all NHL rookies--and 18 assists for 52 points.
The Islanders claimed the former first-round pick off waivers from Florida back in October.
