In-person hearings have ended; decision coming later tonight
The Islanders in-person hearings with the league in Buffalo, NY ended around 8 p.m. tonight.
League disciplinarian Colin Campbell told Newsday he'd inform general manager Garth Snow of his decisions later tonight.
Present for the hearings were Campbell, VP of Hockey Ops Kris King, NHLPA lawyer Roman Stoykewich, each player and his agent . GM Garth Snow and head coach Jack Capuano were also involved.
NHL Commissioner Gary Bettman was not present at the hearings.
Campbell said the Matt Martin and Trevor Gillies incidents were the league's main priorities to investigate. He said the in-person hearings were held, as opposed to the traditional phone calls, because the circumstances last night were "more than the norm."
"It's those payback games that we don't like, especially when it comes to injuries" he said. "Those can be scary."
