Islanders first road game vs. Capitals
So the Islanders will take on one of the league's most dynamic offenses without the help of top-pair defenseman James Wisniewski.
Wisniewski received a two-game suspension for a lewd gesture directed toward Rangers agitator Sean Avery during the team's 6-4 win Monday at Nassau Coliseum.
The Islanders will use either Jack Hillen or Bruno Gervais in Wisniewski's place.
While the Islanders are without Mark Streit (shoulder), Kyle Okposo (shoulder), John Tavares (concussion) and Wisniewski (suspension), the Capitals have some early injuries as well.
Defenseman Tom Poti didn't play against Ottawa on Monday because of a lower-body injury, and both Matt Bradley and rookie Marcus Johansson left the game with lower-body injuries as well.
Michael Neuvirth in goal for the caps tonight at Verizon Center.
