Islanders fans can now purchase the team’s commemorative Al Arbour patch, with proceeds benefitting Alzheimer’s research.

The patch, worn on all three Islanders game jerseys in memory of the team’s Hall of Fame coach, will cost $10.

Arbour died in August at age 82. He was the coach during the team’s Stanley Cup four-peat from 1980 to 1983 and holds the team record for wins (779) and games coached (1,601). The Isles’ 19 consecutive playoff series wins under Arbour is the longest such streak in professional sports.

Fans can purchase the patch and have it pressed onto their replica jerseys at three Islanders Pro Shop locations: Twin Rinks in East Meadow, Iceworks in Syosset and Dix Hills Rink in Dix Hills. The patches also can be purchased online.

Proceeds will go to the Alzheimer’s Foundation of America.
