Isles at Flyers
Isles drop fourth straight with 6-1 loss to Flyers
See game recap in above post.
Isles down by 5 goals...6-1
Another cringe-worthy period for both the Islanders as a team and Rick DiPietro, who gave up four goals in the middle frame.
DiPietro also left his crease--incurring a penalty as a result--and made a ghastly giveaway trying to clear the puck, nearly gift-wrapping a goal for Blair Betts.
Trent Hunter received a questionable boarding major and game misconduct for a hit on Andrej Meszaros.
Frans Nielsen reverted to his patented backhander for a shorthanded goal to spoil a potential Bobrovsky shutout.
Isles trail Flyers 2-0 after first period
Islanders fall behind by a pair of goals, but perhaps the most important minute of the period come with time winding down, as head trainer Garrett Timms rushes out to check on DiPietro. DiPietro remained in net for the rest of the period, but that certainly is enough to raise some doubts about his health.
