Splitting their squads between Saskatoon and Philadelphia, the Islanders dropped two of their five pre-season games last night.

Since I couldn't be in Saskatoon for the team's 3-2 loss to the Flames, here is a recap, courtesy of the AP.

Rick DiPietro made 13 saves before being replaced by Mikko Koskinen in the third period; Calvin de Haan and Trevor Gillies were the Islanders goal-scorers.

Krys Kolanos was the lone goal-scorer for the Isles in Philly last night and although they dropped a 3-1 decision to the Flyers, Dwayne Roloson had a wholly impressive first start.

Off day for the team today. They'll be back at it tomorrow morning at the Coliseum before busing to New Jersey for their third pre-season matchup, against the Devils.
