Almost two weeks into training camp and the Islanders are playing their first two pre-season games tonight. One half of the team will face Calgary in Saskatoon tonight, the other will play the Flyers in Philly.

As you may have noticed, the split-squads haven't been divided very evenly. The team definitely sent their "A' team to Saskatchewan (John Tavares, Josh Bailey, James Wisniewski, and most of last year's team). The players here one PTO's will help to fulfill the second group's need to dress eight vets, although a few of them may be getting a hard look with the recent loss of Kyle Okposo.

Dwayne Roloson in net tonight for Philly group; Manny Legace will back him up.

Both Frans Nielsen and Doug Weight will not play nor will they be making the trip.

In light of the colossal injury news over the past couple of days, I do have something reassuring to share:

After leaving the ice yesterday with an apparent injury, top defensive prospect Travis Hamonic was back practicing today and feeling fine. He'll play tonight.

Defenseman Bruno Gervais, out sick yesterday, is feeling better and will also play tonight.

Here's what I expect the lines to look like tonight:

Moulson-Kolanos-Sim

Joensuu-Hisey-Hilbert

DiBenedetto-McAmmond-Ortmeyer

Yablonski-Marcinko-Haley

Hillen-Hamonic

Katic-Gervais

Eriksson-Reese

Roloson

Legace
