Isles put five on waivers

Forwards Tomas Marcinko, Trevor Frischmon and Tim Wallace and defensemen Ty Wishart and Dylan Reese will be placed on waivers today at noon, according to a source.

Those are the first five cuts of camp; if they clear waivers, all five will be assigned to Bridgeport, which doesn't have a separate camp.

Many of the players who will be in Bridgeport this season do not require waivers. When the 20-man traveling squad returns from Calgary, it will practice as a group along with F Tony Romano, D Anton Klementyev and G Kevin Poulin, so the groups will become more distinct along NHL-AHL lines after tomorrow.
