Isles sign Casey Cizikas to entry-level deal
One day before the June 1 deadline, the Islanders have signed forward Casey Cizikas to a three-year entry-level contract.
Cizikas, a fourth-round draft pick in 2009, would've gone back into next month's NHL draft had the Islanders not been able to reach an agreement with the 20-yer-old center.
Cizikas has 29 goals and 35 assists in 52 games with the OHL's Mississauga St. Michael's Majors this season; the Majors were just ousted in the Memorial Cup Finals after a 3-1 loss to the Saint John Sea Dogs Sunday night.
The Toronto, Ontario native also played for Team Canada at this year's World Junior Hockey Championships.
