The Islanders put forward Jay Pandolfo on injured reserve before Monday morning's practice at Nassau Coliseum. The 36-year-old, who was relied on in his role as a penalty killer, broke his foot in a game against the Devils two weeks ago. He will be out until January.
Defenseman Andrew MacDonald was also placed on injured reserve. MacDonald leads the team with 60 blocked shots.
The Islanders are bringing up goalie Kevin Poulon from Bridgeport. Another move is expected later Monday.
