John Tavares doesn't practice with lower body issue
Islanders captain John Tavares did not practice with the team Friday because of a lower body issue and is day-to-day, coach Jack Capuano said.
Capuano said he did not know what the lower body issue was caused by and did not say whether Tavares would play Saturday at home against the Devils.
"Anytime your captain is out, you have some concern, there's no question," Capuano said.
Tavares leads the Islanders in points (39), goals (13) and assists (26). He's played in each of the team's first 38 games.
Casey Cizikas also did not practice Friday. The forward was out to take care of a personal matter, Capuano said.
