Kyle Okposo out; Five others get day off to rest

 Kyle Okposo (shoulder) will not be practicing today; he'll be re-evaluated this weekend. 

Doug Weight, Frans Nielsen, P.A. Parenteau, Trent Hunter and Rob Schremp will have today off for general groin/hip soreness. 

Following last night's special teams scrimmage, the Islanders will have a shorter day today with just one on-ice session at noon...full house on the ice...six lines of forwards.

Former Bridgeport assistant Bernie Cassell is also on the ice this morning; he will be around for the next week or so to help out.

* For those wishing they could've seen last night's action, there will be a Blue and Orange scrimmage open to the public tomorrow at 11 a.m. Tickets are available for $10 each on the Islanders website; All proceeds go to the Islanders Children's Foundation.
