Injured defenseman Mike Mottau, who suffered an eye injury  November 21, has been cleared for physical activity.

The 32-year-old blue-liner suffered the injury after being struck in the right eye with a shot by Zach Bogosian in the Islanders 21 overtime loss.

After two overnight stays in a local Atlanta hospital, Mottau was cleared to fly home, where he was subsequently diagnosed with Hyphema (basically blood in the eye).

Although the injury came with an estimated 4-6 weeks of recovery time Mottau may now resume working out.
