Mike Mottau cleared to fly
Mike Mottau, who suffered an injury to his right eye Sunday night, has been cleared to fly. He will return to New York today and continue to receive treatment from team doctors.
According to his agent, Jerry Buckley, "he's making progress."
By all accounts this is an encouraging sign for Mottau, who has spent the past two nights in an Atlanta hospital. The initial concern about letting the 32-year-old defenseman on a plane was the pressure's impact on the injury,
Should know more about the severity of the injury/timetable once he is evaluated by team doctors.
