Morning round-up
Pretty busy day here at Nassau Coliseum yesterday. Here's a rundown of Tuesday's events with links to each story:
--Team owner Charles Wang made his first public comments about the stalled Lighthouse Project of the season, reporting no new developments and committing the team to stay at the Coliseum until the expiration of their lease in 2015.
--The Islanders announced the signing of first-round draft pick Nino Niederreiter at the team's pre-season press conference.
--Newsday's Arthur Staple weighed in on the team's state-of-the-union and what's ahead with the final year of coach Scott Gordon's contract.
--Also, we learned that IMG Media was at practice yesterday gathering footage and sound for a potential Hard Knocks-type documentary with the Islanders. Here's a little more on that.
