Nothing new on Kovalchuk front for Islanders

 Although I'm sure many of you are riled up (and rightly so) from Friday's late-night reports on the Islanders interest in highly-coveted free agent Ilya Kovalchuk, there appears to be no progress on that front today.

After checking in with different sources since this morning, I don't expect anything to happen today.,,,maybe not even tomorrow.

"I'm not going to repeat this every day," general manager Garth Snow said when reached by telephone. "I've had a coversation with his agent and I'll leave it at that."

Translation? Don't go canceling your 4th of July BBQ's to hang by your computers....

If that changes, however, I promise to report back with an update ASAP.
