Poulin in net tonight for second rookie game
After watching goaltender Mikko Koskinen get the start in last night's rookie game, Kevin Poulin is anxious to make his debut tonight against the Bruins prospects.
"Obviously it's the first game of the year so I just want to get back into game shape and play the game I can," he said.
Tonight will be his first live-game action since undergoing sports hernia surgery in August and Poulin is eager to see how he fares.
"I feel alright. I can definitely play and practice, but it's a big difference between games and practices so I'll be testing my quickness and reflexes," he said.
One advantage Poulin my have over Koskinen tonight is some prior familiarity with Bruins forward Jordan Caron, who notched a hat trick in last night's contest.
"I knew he was good, but three goals is a lot," Poulin said smiling.
The two share an agent and have known each other for four years, so with bragging rights on the line, Poulin will be well-motivated to make sure he doesn't repeat.
"Since I know him, I really don't want him to score on me," he said. "It'll be a challenge."
