Poulin's dislocated left knee cap? Not the first time
Kevin Poulin's painful-sounding injury during warmups Tuesday--a dislocated left knee cap that will require season-ending surgery--was a freak accident.
But here is an interesting item to note:
It wasn't the first time Poulin suffered the injury.
Back in his days for the Victoriaville Tigers of the QMJHL, Poulin suffered the exact same injury while playing a game of soccer for pre-game warm-ups.
I'm no medical expert, so I have no idea if sustaining said injury once makes a player more susceptible to re-injure it, but this is hardly encouraging given the Islanders' harrowing hard luck with injuries to goaltenders lately.
***Stick tap to reader Tom Meehan for pointing this out.
