Islanders goaltender Rick DiPietro is not at practice this morning; he is at the doctor getting his leg checked out.

No official word on whether the check-up is routine, as in previously scheduled,  but DiPietro has been practicing with the team every day of practice this week.

Also, DiPietro is expected to participate in tomorrow's morning skate.

Will update as I hear more...

Trent Hunter is also not practicing for precautionary reasons because of a mild quad strain. He is expected to be available for tomorrow's game against Chicago.

It appears that Dustin Kohn, Matt Martin and Jesse Joensuu will remain in Bridgeport for the time being since they are not at practice today. With the return of Jack Hillen, Josh Bailey and Tim Jackman, however, I wouldn't expect that to change anytime soon.

Both the Islanders Olympians--Mark Streit and Scott Gordon--are on the ice for the first time since returning to Vancouver.
