Islanders forward Rob Schremp is out 3-4 weeks with a lower back strain, the team announced today.

Schremp suffered the injury in the Isles' pre-season game against the Devils Friday in New Jersey after being cross-checked in the back by Brian Rolston toward the end of the second period.

Schremp is the third player to suffer a significant injury this training camp. Mark Streit and Kyle Okposo both will likely miss significant time (6 months and two months, respectively) with shoulder injuries.

I'm off today, but Newsday's John Jeansonne will be back with more later...
