 Apparently I missed quite a thriller while in the air en route to Denver last night.

Despite a furious comeback, Team USA outlasted Team Canada in a 6-5 OT win for the World Juniors Gold.

Islanders prospect Matt Donovan had one assist in that game and finished 5th in scoring among defenseman with 3 goals and 2 assists.

Russian prospect Kirill Petrov finished 8th in scoring at the tournament with 6 goals and 4 assists in 10 games.

I'll be talking to Assistant GM/Director of Amateur Scouting Ryan Jankowski later today, so I'll try to give a more in-depth breakdown of the prospects performances then.

Islanders skate at 11:30 at the Pepsi Center. Will report back from there.
