Scott Gordon named head coach for US national team
USA Hockey announced today that former Islanders head coach Scott Gordon will lead the U.S. Men's hockey team at the upcoming World Hockey Championships.
Gordon held the same post last year as well, and also served as an assistant of the silver medal-winning 2010 U.S. Men's Olympic team.
"We're extremely excited to have Scott back behind the bench," said USA Hockey's Jim Johansson. 'We're fortunate to have someone with his experience level, particularly in international hockey."
The tournament will be held from April 29-May 19 in Slovakia.
