Second Session, Sheldon Souray, and Injury Updates
Second session on the ice for the Isles now (see lines below)...expect this to be the group that heads to Philadelphia on Wednesday for the team's first pre-season game (other group will play Calgary in Saskatoon, SK).
New invitees--Goaltender Joel Martin, Defenseman Anders Eriksson and forward Krys Kolanos--are on the ice. Once Manny Legace arrives tomorrow, Martin will head back to Bridgeport.
Legace will back up Dwayne Roloson in Philly.

Most popular question I've received since the news broke of Mark Streit's injury: Are the Islanders interested in Sheldon Souray?
Short answer: No, they are not.
No one can question his cannon of a shot, but he's not what they are looking for from a defensive standpoint. Can't imagine Souray's trade demands in Edmonton last season endeared him to the Islanders either.

Doug Weight and Frans Nielsen, who both have sore groin/hip flexors, are not practicing today. Neither are Kevin Poulin, Nathan Lawson or Robin Figren.

Here's a (somewhat-jumbled) view of the line combos for the second group:
Moulson-Hilbert-Kolanos
DiBenedetto-Hisey-Sim
Haley-Romano-Yablonski
Marcinko, Joensuu
Hillen-Gervais/Eriksson
Reese-Kohn
Katic-Klementyev
Roloson, Martin
