Tonight's Isles lineup vs. Devils
Here's the 20 who will dress for tonight's game at the Coliseum:
Forwards
Matt Moulson-John Tavares-Nino Niederreiter
Kyle Okposo-Frans Nielsen-Michael Grabner
Jay Pandolfo-Ryan Strome-Tim Wallace
Matt Martin-Josh Bailey-Trevor Gillies
Defensemen
Mark Streit-Steve Staios
Mark Eaton-Milan Jurcina
Aaron Ness-Travis Hamonic
Goaltenders
Al Montoya, Kevin Poulin
Bailey, Pandolfo and Staios all getting back-to-back work -- makes sense for the two tryouts, 36-year-old Pandolfo and 38-year-old Staios, who need to show they can stand up to playing on consecutive nights to stick. Bailey had a nice start to Friday's game in Boston but struggled on faceoffs and to create space thereafter. He's got a two-year deal, but he still needs to bring consistency to be an effective top-9 forward.
First game on the Coliseum ice for Streit, the new captain, since his freak injury 366 days ago. Eaton hasn't played in a while either.
As for the goaltenders, Montoya gets his first chance to show he can be a meaningful part of a rotation. And Poulin can show he's one step closer to being the goaltender of the future. Or near future.
First live action for Strome, the first-round pick, and Ness, who has impressed with his ability to transition so far.
