Blue Notes Extra: Stepan, Boyle, stats

                 En route to Pittsburgh, watching Giants stumble to Dallas before boarding at LGA.

                 Couple things:

                 Brian Boyle is tied for 12th in the NHL in goals. Who had him in their pool?

                 Derek Stepan with a career-high two assists. "I think his game is coming back," said Tortorella. He also won 7 of 11 faceoffs. Erik Christensen won 8 of 11. Team won 55 percent, a rarity.

                Artem Anisimov had five shots on goal, and another goal.

                 Marian Gaborik's first hat trick as a Ranger was Jan. 31 of this year at Colorado. Rangers visit there on Friday. On Saturday,  the right wing returns to Minnesota.

                  Matt Gilroy skated as a forward late in the third period. He played 16:08 overall and was a plus 3.

                   Frolov's last multi-goal game was back on Dec. 31, 2009 at Minnesota. Also had five shots.

                  Rangers now 4-5-1 at home.

                  The Rangers PK is now 14 of 14 in the last five games.
