Rookie Swedish defenseman Tim Erixon will practice in Hartford today with the Whale then fly to Stockholm to join the team for Friday's opener against the Kings.  Erixon, 20, had played the first two exhibition games in Europe, but was trimmed from the roster in the round of eight cuts afterward.  Erixon, a former first-round draft pick who played in the Swedish Elite League and was acquired from Calgary in the off-season, is a smooth skater with very good hockey IQ. Torts said he had "a bright future" but needed to play in the AHL for awhile.  But he'll get a shot now, with the Rangers scrambling and facing back to backs on the weekend.
