Four lines? Three lines?
I guess The Old Rodent stirred up some debate about whether the Rangers can afford to roll three lines and have four D skate most of the minutes. That's what the Rat is lurking around for, I suppose. Anybody know if he's still on the West Coast? Haven't spoken to him in a while; last year he mistakenly thought I was critiquing him for not being at any games and caused a big kerfuffle ( our pal Jeff Z. Klein used that the other day) on his mousey board...
Well, here's my take: They're missing a No. 1 or No. 1A line, folks: Prospal, Gaborik and Drury, and another veteran D! I've gotta stick up for Tortorella here, he's doing a fine job coaching this depleted crew so far.
The fourth line, in fact, is really a fifth line...and the third D-pair is a rotating righty trio. From my perch, being around this team daily, I can tell ya, they are really playing hard. Management is looking to make moves, but it ain't easy.
Criticism certainly is, though. It's a free speech thing on the internet, this pot-stirring, as most of you know.....No harm, no foul.
