Greetings from The Joe, where the news is that Henrik Lundqvist went through a full practice and worked late on the ice after most players had left. His goal, he said, is to play against the Canadiens Monday in the home opener.

"I'm not going to hide it, I want to play Monday," he said.

But, he did add that the undisclosed injury was impoving slower than he wanted and was waiting to see how his body responded tonight. The Rangers are scheduled to practice for the first time at the Garden on Sunday afternoon.

So, Cam Talbot will be in the net tonight for the second staraight game, backed by by Jason Missiaen.

Mats Zuccarello, a healthy scratch in the 2-1 loss to Philadelphia, is back in the lineup; Brandon Mashinter will sit...

Coach Alain Vigneault said he hoped to see more production from the center position, and named Derek Stepan and Derick Brassard. But he did not say whether Brad Richards, moved to wing, would be shifted back to the pivot down the road.

Carl Hagelin, eligible to come off LTIR and play on Tuesday, said he was still targeted that date, but also mentioned the 31st or Nov. 2, but said he was not backtracking and that there were no setbacks in the rehab of  his shoulder.
