It's D.C. or home for the summer...

Here's the skinny:

Rangers need a point vs Devils in the afternoon to force Canes to get a point vs. Tampa at night.  Two points forces Carolina to get two. A regulation loss, and the Blueshirts are done.

If the Rangers manage to eke into eighth, they will face Washington, which clinched the No. 1 seed in the East.

Tough seeing Canes lose Saturday, after 6-2 whipping of Thrashers; Tampa is locked into fifth, nothing for which to play.

Blue night for the Blueshirts, who brought it on themselves with losses to Thrash, Isles, Ottawa, leaving five of six points on table in crunch time.
