Defenseman Marc Staal was seeing specialists for the second consecutive day, and coach John Tortorella said that depending on the results, "I'm not sure yet even if he'll be on the trip."
The team flies to Prague after Monday night's pre-season game in Philadelphia for the first of four exhibition games there before opening the season in Stockholm on Oct. 7.
Tortorella did say that Staal, 24, who began experiencing headaches during workouts this summer, months after sustaining a concussion on Feb. 22 on a high hit from his brother, Eric, of the Hurricanes, could fly later. "He could come the next day," he said, and reminded that the target date for his return remains Oct. 7. "We'll know more tomorrow...in the next couple days," he said.
