Tp quickly add to last blog entry. Shame Doan will likely visit other some suitors besides Rangers: L:A., San Jose, Detroit and Pittsburgh. all of whom have indicated some interest. Again, Doan said he might have to make a decision before all the info on new ownership in Phoenix is resolved, an issue which might stretch into November. He also said that GM Don Maloney has been great on his behalf.
On the NHL CBA front, I wasn't there today (Newsday's Adam Silverman is preparing a report) but based on a memo from Fehr to NHLPA members obtained by The Post,
The initial NHL proposal as applied to 2011-12 would have resulted in 24-percent reduction in player compensation
Under NHL proposal, 2011-12 cap would have been 50.8M with floor of $38.8M
Player compensation would be at lowest since 2002-03.
As many have notyed, the proposal is harsh and will probably change, How much is anybody's guess...
