No. 13. Lucky for Sean Avery or Erik Christensen?
This pales in comparison the the Marc Staal news---exactly how long will he be out and what can the Rangers do to compensate---but anyway...
Christensen has played in the past two games while Avery has been a healthy scratch. Asked about he move, coach John Tortorella, who wants to carry 13 not 14 forwards, told reporters after today's game in Switzerland:
"I wanted to see Erik play more. I know what Sean is and what type of player he is, but I wanted to see Erik in different situations. I played (Erik) on the wing (Monday) and I played him at center. He's won a lot of games with us the past couple years with the shootout. We'll make our decision heading into the opener."
