No discipline for Gaborik hit on Nielsen

Marian Gaborik will not be disciplined by the NHL for his hit on the Islanders' Frans Nielsen in the first period of Thursday night's 6-2 Islanders win.
With the Rangers on the power play, Gaborik hit Nielsen into the side boards at 16:29 of the first. Nielsen went face-first into the dasher that separates the boards and glass and sat on the ice for a few minutes. He went straight to the locker room and did not return, but said he was OK as he left Nassau Coliseum after the game.
Gaborik got a minor for boarding and another for roughing after Radek Martinek flew in to confront him.
"I know it's a skilled guy, Gaborik. He probably didn't mean to," Islanders forward PA Parenteau said. "I don't know, it's not his trademark, but I do know it was a real dangerous hit."
Rangers rookie Mats Zuccarello was sent to Connecticut of the AHL, according to the AHL website. The Rangers did not practice Friday.
