No weekend fireworks likely for Rangers

            Peering far, far ahead at the start of the Independence Day weekend, there could be four forward prospects fighting for openings at camp. Mats Zuccarello Aasen, Evgeny Grachev, Dale Weise and Derek Stepan. Defense another story. Still believe Rangers might sign a veteran depth D. Again, things could change. As for current status, expect a quiet weekend on the Rangers front.

           Also, one clarification from the other day, Jody Shelley is not an over-35 contract. Age on 6/30 is the rule; I was misinformed and didn't double-check. Sloppy on my part. Just means the bones and brain need some sun and sea and sleep. Not necessarily in that order. Still, may post something today or tomorrow on post-prospect camp impressions
