LOS ANGELES — Oscar Lindberg has played 66 games in his rookie season, but on Thursday was a healthy scratch for the second consecutive game on this California trip.

Lindberg, who scored his 12th goal of the season, but just his 2nd since Jan. 9, against the Islanders on March 9, did not dress because of the solid efforts from the bottom two lines against the Anaheim Ducks on Wednesday, and coach Alain Vigneault decided not to alter his lineup, except for using Henrik Lundqvist in goal.

Take the fourth line for instance: Tanner Glass was credited with a team-high 10 hits, Dominic Moore won all nine faceoffs and each had an assist. Viktor Stalberg used his speed and size on the forecheck. Third liners Eric Staal and J.T. Miller set up Kevin Klein’s winning goal and Kevin Hayes was more involved than usual.

Before Thursday’s game, the Blueshirts had captured at least one point in seven of their last nine road games against the Kings, dating back to Dec. 14, 2000 (5-2-2) and were 2-0-1 in the last three.

Nash still pointless

As well as the Rangers defended on Wednesday, they hoped for more production from a reunited line: Rick Nash has three shots and two blocked, but was pointless in three games since his return from a leg issue and Derick Brassard (1 shot on goal) and Mats Zuccarello (zero) were often outmuscled by the Ducks. Chris Kreider and Jesper Fast (no shots) also didn’t test Ducks goaltender John Gibson.

Marc Staal reaches milestone

Marc Staal skated in his 606th game Thursday, passing Dave Maloney for 20th place on the franchise’s all-time games played list . . . The Rangers end this trip in San Jose with a Saturday matinee. They have won three straight against the Sharks, outscoring them 11-1 and have allowed one goal or fewer in their last four games.
